Amazon Devices team is seeking a Principal System Dev Engineer for their Fire TV Partner Engineering team. This role is crucial in scaling the launch of 3P Fire TVs (Smart Connected TVs) globally through partnerships with ODMs/OEMs. The position combines deep technical expertise in Android/Linux systems with partner collaboration to deliver high-quality consumer electronics products.

The role involves working with the FTV-3P team, which focuses on launching a full portfolio of Fire TVs across different segments (entry level, mid-level, premium) worldwide. As a Principal Engineer, you'll be responsible for developing new features, optimizing system performance, and ensuring successful integration of partner technologies. The position requires extensive experience in Android system development, Linux kernel development, and hardware integration.

Responsibilities For Principal System Dev Engineer, Fire TV Partner Engineering

  • Partner with ODM/OEMs to launch FTV powered TVs
  • Develop new bespoke features for Tier1 partners
  • Enable partner customizations of differentiated deep panel/hw coupled features
  • System performance tuning and optimization
  • Integration of proprietary features
  • Provide manufacturing and diagnostic support
  • Post-launch field diagnostics and monitoring
  • Handle supply-chain oriented running product changes migrations

Requirements For Principal System Dev Engineer, Fire TV Partner Engineering

Linux
  • Bachelor's degree and/or Master's / Doctorate degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • 10+ years of System Development Engineering experience
  • 10+ years of hands-on development experience in Android/Linux
  • Experience in HW/SW integration, platform SW/middleware/framework/app development
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • In-depth expertise working with Android system
  • In-depth knowledge and experience with Linux kernel development
  • Experience on bootloader and device drivers development
