Amazon Robotics is seeking an experienced Robotics Control Engineer to join their Motion Planning and Control team. This role offers the opportunity to create worldwide impact in robotics while solving challenges at the edge of robotics research. The team builds high-performance, real-time robotic systems that can perceive, learn, and act intelligently alongside humans at Amazon scale.

Working with a world-class team of experts in motion planning, control theory, computer vision, machine learning, and robotic hardware design, you'll apply the latest research trends to tackle complex real-world challenges. The role focuses on achieving high-impact algorithmic advancements in areas such as closed-loop control, robotic grasping, and manipulation in high-contact environments.

Key responsibilities include designing and improving system controls architecture, developing controls code, implementing system optimizations, and working closely with hardware and software engineering teams. You'll be involved in launching, testing, and debugging systems both in lab and field environments, while also developing tools for system monitoring and troubleshooting.

The position offers competitive compensation ranging from $136,100 to $235,200 per year, depending on location and experience. Responsibilities For Robotics Control Engineer, Amazon Robotics

  • Design, simplify and continuously improve system controls architecture
  • Develop controls code utilizing structured text on Codesys platforms
  • Identify and implement system optimizations
  • Work with hardware and software engineering teams
  • Launch, test, and debug systems in lab and field

Requirements For Robotics Control Engineer, Amazon Robotics

Python
  • 3+ years of experience developing production motion control systems for robotics or industrial automation
  • BS / MS Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or similar field)
  • Experience with C++, CodeSys, Allen-Bradley PLCs, Siemens PLCs, or similar
  • Demonstrated experience with IEC standards (eg IEC 61131-3) for programming controls for robotics
  • Working knowledge of Version Control GIT
  • Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals
  • Demonstrated experience with Functional Safety standards
  • Solid debugging skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
