Amazon Time & Pay Innovation (T&PA) is seeking Software Development Engineers to build world-class time systems that serve Amazon employees across 25+ countries. The role involves working in a greenfield environment, creating large-scale intelligent products and services with consumer-grade user experience using AWS technologies. T&PA's mission is to build intuitive, friction-free time systems that enable efficient time and pay management with near-zero defects. The team tackles complex problems at Amazon's massive scale, working with technologies like Lambda, EMR, DynamoDB, S3, Kinesis, and ECS.

As an SDE II, you'll lead in identifying and solving ambiguous problems, heavily influence architecture and design decisions, and write critical-path code. You'll work on solutions that operate at Amazon scale - magnitudes larger than typical commodity solutions. The role requires strong leadership skills, clear communication, and a track record of delivering large-scale solutions.

The position offers the unique combination of early-stage innovation, operational excellence, technical complexity, and global impact across multiple Amazon businesses. You'll collaborate with product managers and customers, translate complex business requirements into scalable solutions, and mentor junior team members.
