Description For Security Engineer, Enterprise Protection Program

Amazon's Enterprise Protection Program (EPP) is seeking a Security Engineer to identify, investigate, and mitigate insider threats. This role combines technical expertise in data analysis with security investigation skills.

The position involves leading investigations into active insider threats by analyzing internal and external datasets to identify trends, anomalies, and suspicious activities. You'll work closely with legal, HR, engineering, analytics, and prevention teams to develop proactive insider threat solutions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading deep dive analysis of datasets to identify potential insider threats
  • Conducting investigations while coordinating with legal and HR
  • Building and developing security tools and solutions
  • Creating quantitative feedback mechanisms
  • Collaborating across Amazon's security community

The role includes on-call responsibilities (one week every two months) and offers opportunities to work on high-impact cases that reduce insider threat risks. You'll regularly interact with internal security customers, partners, and engineering teams.

Responsibilities For Security Engineer, Enterprise Protection Program

Requirements For Security Engineer, Enterprise Protection Program

  • 5+ years of experience using internal and external datasets to analyze and identify trends, anomalies, and activities indicative of advanced threats
  • 5+ years of experience conducting insider threat, Cyber, incident response, or equivalent investigations
  • BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems (IS), Computer Engineering, or 5+ years equivalent technology experience without a degree
  • Proficiency with creating SQL and Splunk queries
  • Understanding of web, security, and networking protocols
