Security Engineer - Hardware, Firmware, Virtualization, Secure Hardware And Foundational Technologies Team

Help us protect not only the Amazon Security (AmSec) cloud computing environment but all of our customers as well! Since 2006, our great team at AmSec has been enabling our customers to bring great ideas to life in ways that aren't possible in traditional IT environments. As part of the Secure Hardware and Foundational Technologies group, you will help secure Amazon's foundational platforms including OS kernels, virtualization, device emulation, firmware and hardware. This role involves conducting security reviews, threat modeling, developing security detection tools, and performing hands-on security evaluations. You'll work with diverse engineering teams, provide technical direction, and shape the future of cloud computing security.

The position requires deep expertise in hardware security, firmware, virtualization, and platform security. You'll be responsible for protecting Amazon's infrastructure at the most fundamental levels, from hardware to virtualization layers. The role combines technical depth with leadership opportunities, as you'll mentor junior engineers and serve as a security thought leader within the organization.
