Description For Security Engineer II, Customer Service Security Response Operations (CSSRO)

Amazon's Customer Service Security team serves as the first line of defense protecting customers and their interests from technical & malicious adversaries. This role combines security engineering with incident response at a massive scale, working to protect the world's largest Customer Service operation. As a Security Engineer II, you'll be responsible for investigating and responding to security threats, designing robust solutions to complex security challenges, and ensuring customer protection remains the top priority.

The position offers an opportunity to work with world-class talent in solving complex security problems that affect millions of customers. You'll serve as a technical SME for incident response, conduct deep-dive investigations into threats, and help build security-related services for internal customers. The role involves both tactical incident response and strategic security engineering work.

This role sits within the Customer Service Security Response Operations team, focusing on protecting Amazon's customer service infrastructure and operations. You'll work closely with other security engineers, analysts and developers while having opportunities to mentor others and help drive security best practices across the organization. Responsibilities For Security Engineer II, Customer Service Security Response Operations (CSSRO)

  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert on incident response & technical investigation lifecycle
  • Respond to incidents and provide leadership to security analysts
  • Conduct deep-dive investigations into threat and fraud abuse reports
  • Influence service teams to develop systems with security best practices
  • Design & Build security-related services for internal customers
  • Develop and mentor other security engineers and analysts
  • Participate in post-mortem analyses
  • Find opportunities to improve from security incident investigations

Requirements For Security Engineer II, Customer Service Security Response Operations (CSSRO)

Python
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline
  • 5+ years of work in related technical roles
  • 3+ years of experience with cloud technologies (AWS preferred)
  • 3+ years of experience using data analysis tools (SQL, Python, R)
  • 3+ years of experience with incident handling/response
  • Experience with security architecture and threat modeling
