Amazon's Stores Security Red Team is seeking a Security Engineer to join their elite security team. This role focuses on protecting Amazon's infrastructure by actively testing and attacking Amazon's services, infrastructure, processes, and controls. Working alongside highly skilled security professionals, you'll help identify vulnerabilities and partner with defensive & service teams to strengthen Amazon's security posture.
As a Security Engineer II, you'll conduct independent red team engagements, create detailed attack plans, and emulate real-world adversary tactics. The role requires strong technical expertise across multiple domains and the ability to work directly with teams throughout Amazon's various business verticals. You'll gain deep technical knowledge about Amazon's infrastructure while discovering new ways to challenge and improve security measures.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading red team operations independently or as part of a team
- Developing comprehensive engagement plans and adversary emulation scenarios
- Documenting findings, attack paths, and providing actionable recommendations
- Collaborating with various teams to drive security improvements
- Contributing to red team tooling and processes
- Mentoring and developing other team members
The position offers competitive compensation ranging from $136,000 to $212,800 per year based on location, plus comprehensive benefits including medical, financial, and other perks. Responsibilities For Security Engineer II, Stores Red Team
- Conducting red team engagements throughout Amazon independently, or as part of a team
- Creating detailed engagement plans, performing operations, and emulating adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs)
- Thoroughly documenting timelines, attack paths, findings/gaps, and recommendations
- Communicating and collaborating with partner teams to drive security improvements
- Performing manual examination of systems to discover weaknesses
- Contributing to tooling, processes, and documentation
- Helping to recruit, interview, and mentor other Red Team engineers
Requirements For Security Engineer II, Stores Red Team
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- 3+ years of programming in Python, Ruby, Go, Swift, Java, .Net, C++ or similar object oriented language experience
- 3+ years of experience on a Red Team
