Security Engineer, Incident Response

Amazon is seeking a Security Engineer to join their Security Incident Response Team (SIRT) in Sydney. This role combines hands-on technical security work with incident response coordination across Amazon's teams.

The Security Engineer will be responsible for responding to security events, analyzing threats and intrusion attempts, and protecting sensitive data across Amazon's systems. They will work with detection systems and vulnerability analysis tools while conducting root-cause analysis of security issues.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading security incident response and coordinating multi-team responses
• Providing security engineering solutions during customer-facing incidents
• Developing pragmatic security solutions that balance business needs and risk
• Improving Amazon's incident response capabilities
• Collaborating with other Security Engineers on risk reduction
• Staying current with security trends and threats
• Participating in follow-the-sun on-call rotation
