Security Engineer, Kuiper Security

Project Kuiper is an ambitious Amazon initiative focused on launching a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites to provide high-speed broadband connectivity to underserved communities worldwide. As a Security Engineer on the Kuiper Security team, you'll be responsible for securing the entire product and operations infrastructure end-to-end.

The role combines strategic security leadership with hands-on technical work in a startup-like environment, backed by Amazon's resources. You'll establish security standards, conduct threat modeling, and work directly with development teams to implement secure-by-default solutions. Key responsibilities include:

• Developing product-specific security requirements and threat models
• Providing security consultation and guidance to development teams
• Collaborating with business leaders to define security priorities
• Assessing and addressing technical debt and security risks
• Creating and deploying security testing tools and detection mechanisms
• Mentoring other engineers on security best practices
• Supporting red team activities and penetration testing
• Investigating and resolving security incidents

The position requires expertise in distributed systems, cloud security, and software development.
