This role is crucial in securing the ecosystem that handles millions of daily transactions across dozens of countries and payment methods.
As a Security Engineer in the Payments Security team, you'll be responsible for protecting mission-critical services that process tens of billions of dollars annually for over 100 million customers and merchants. You'll work within Amazon's Stores Security organization, partnering with global Payments business units to implement full-stack security solutions across data, applications, networks, containers, and infrastructure.
Your role will involve:
- Implementing secure-by-design architectures from concept to launch
- Balancing immediate security needs with long-term architectural solutions
- Providing scalable security mechanisms for software developers
- Working with AWS to enhance security awareness and protect shared infrastructure
- Conducting threat modeling, secure code reviews, and security testing
- Developing automation solutions to scale security engineering efforts

Requirements For Security Engineer, Payments Security
- 3+ years of experience in threat modeling, secure coding, identity management and authentication, software development, cryptography, or system administration
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Knowledge of system security vulnerabilities and remediation techniques
- Experience driving complex security initiatives
