Amazon's Operations division is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer for their Reliability & Maintenance Engineering (RME) team. This role is crucial in maximizing equipment reliability and operational performance in Amazon's fulfillment centers through proactive controls automation and technical support.
The position involves working with state-of-the-art technology, including conveyors, sortation systems, scanners, cameras, print and apply systems, and SCADA devices. You'll be responsible for troubleshooting complex control systems, analyzing performance metrics, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. As a senior engineer, you'll mentor junior engineers and lead cross-functional teams to optimize material handling equipment (MHE) systems.
The role offers competitive compensation ranging from $102,600 to $163,000 per year, depending on location and experience. A bachelor's degree in electrical/mechanical engineering or equivalent experience is required, along with demonstrated expertise in maintaining and troubleshooting industrial automation systems.
