Amazon's Pricing & Promotions Science, Data, and Insights organization is seeking a highly analytical Senior Business Intelligence Engineer to shape Amazon's pricing and promotions strategy through data-driven insights. This role sits at the intersection of business intelligence, data science, and machine learning, working with planet-scale data to build advanced ML models for product similarity, pricing optimization, and promotion recommendations.

The position requires a self-starting leader who can thrive in ambiguity and possesses strong analytical abilities. You'll be responsible for developing automated analytics tools, delivering insights, and implementing anomaly detection systems to ensure Amazon maintains competitive pricing while preserving customer trust. The role combines technical expertise in data engineering and analysis with business acumen to drive strategic decision-making.

Working within the Pricing & Promotions Science organization, you'll leverage multi-modal data on billions of Amazon and competitor products to build sophisticated machine learning models. Responsibilities For Senior Business Intelligence Engineer, P2 Science, Data, and Insights

  • Lead business intelligence for your business and its customers
  • Develop, build, and deliver analytical reporting, models and business strategy
  • Conduct deep dive analyses of business problems
  • Leverage LLMs to generate Insights and drive growth discussions with Product teams
  • Produce written recommendations and insights for key stakeholders
  • Continuously invent, simplify, and automate products, tools, services, and methodologies
  • Improve back-end data sources for increased accuracy and simplicity

Requirements For Senior Business Intelligence Engineer, P2 Science, Data, and Insights

Python
  • 10+ years of professional or military experience
  • 5+ years of SQL experience
  • Experience with AWS technologies
  • Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets
  • Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning and data mining
  • Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills
  • Experience with theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results
