Senior Data Engineer, AWS Fintech

AWS Finance Technology (Fintech) is seeking an exceptional Senior Data Engineer to join their team building large-scale financial data systems that power one of the world's leading cloud providers. This role sits at the intersection of cloud computing and financial technology, where you'll process financial data at an unprecedented scale and make direct impact on decisions that drive AWS's growth.

The position involves developing and maintaining one of the world's largest finance data warehouses, processing billions of transactions daily that support AWS's continuous growth. You'll work with an advanced AWS technical stack including EMR, Redshift, Glue, S3, DynamoDB, Kinesis, QuickSight, and Athena. The role also involves implementing machine learning capabilities using SageMaker while maintaining enterprise-grade security through KMS, IAM, and CloudTrail.

As a Senior Data Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing and building high-performance solutions that operate at global scale. This includes developing real-time financial data processing pipelines handling millions of transactions per second, creating automated reconciliation systems for global reporting, and implementing sophisticated data lakes and warehouses for analytics and compliance.

The role offers unique opportunities to work alongside experienced engineers and financial experts, implementing innovative solutions using the latest AWS technologies. You'll be part of a team that builds self-service analytics platforms for finance teams, develops ML-powered anomaly detection systems, and supports global tax and accounting platforms essential to AWS's operations.

The AWS FinTech data team collaborates extensively with Finance, Tax, Accounting, AWS Forecasting, Commerce Platform, and Infrastructure teams to build reliable financial systems. This position offers competitive compensation ranging from $139,100 to $240,500 per year based on geographic location, plus equity and comprehensive benefits.
