The mission focuses on bringing fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities worldwide. As a Senior Embedded Software Engineer in the Customer Terminal Software Team, you'll play a crucial role in developing the devices that connect customers to the Kuiper network. You'll lead a team of embedded software developers, working on cutting-edge technology that combines embedded Linux and custom Silicon solutions. The role involves close collaboration with hardware, product, and operations teams to deliver exceptional customer experiences. You'll be responsible for system software development, driver implementation, and board bring-up activities. The position requires expertise in embedded systems, real-time software development, and security practices. You'll mentor team members while guiding software designs from conception through mass production. This is an opportunity to work on groundbreaking technology that will help bridge the digital divide by providing connectivity to consumers, businesses, and government agencies in areas lacking reliable internet access. The role offers competitive compensation ranging from $151,300 to $261,500 based on location, plus equity and comprehensive benefits. Responsibilities For Senior Embedded Software Engineer, Project Kuiper Terrestrial Applications

  • Develop embedded software for Customer Terminal devices within the Project Kuiper system
  • Participate in all phases of SDLC including requirements gathering, design, code, test, and code/test coverage
  • Write drivers for peripherals and interfaces such as I2C/I3C, SPI, UART, GPIO etc
  • Work closely with hardware teams to support board bring-up and integration testing
  • Lead a team of embedded SDEs responsible for leading the design of embedded software
  • Mentor a team of software engineers on best practices

Requirements For Senior Embedded Software Engineer, Project Kuiper Terrestrial Applications

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
  • 5+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems experience
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
