AWS Managed Operations (MO) is seeking a Senior Linux Systems Engineer to join their AWSOM team. This role is part of a newly founded organization (April 2023) focused on reducing operational load through long-term engineering projects. As a Senior Systems Engineer, you'll be responsible for operating and improving some of the largest software systems while driving technical and cultural change to enhance reliability and efficiency.
The position sits within AWS Utility Computing (UC), which provides foundational services like S3 and EC2, along with continuous product innovations. You'll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, IoT, Platform, and Productivity Apps services. The role requires deep technical expertise in systems engineering and a balance between day-to-day operations and long-term improvements.
