Senior Optical Network Development Engineer, Network Product Development - Optics

AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking a Senior Optical Network Development Engineer to join their Network Product Development (NPD) team. This role is crucial in building and maintaining AWS's global infrastructure, focusing on network and Unix systems engineering to deliver simple, sustainable, and repeatable solutions.

The position sits within the Core Networking team, responsible for building Data Centers and the networks that allow them to function efficiently. You'll work on solutions that enable rack aggregation and Data Center interconnection, balancing efficiency, performance, and reliability to ensure optimal customer access to applications and data.

As a Senior Optical Network Development Engineer, you'll collaborate with vendors and manufacturers to evaluate and implement new hardware and software features, automate optical test plans, and qualify optical modules. You'll work closely with network operations to identify and resolve operational issues, improving quality and RMA processes.
