Senior SDE, Kuiper ACE

Project Kuiper is an ambitious initiative by Amazon to launch a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO) with the mission of providing fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities worldwide. As a Senior Software Development Engineer in the Kuiper ACE team, you will play a crucial role in developing services that support the automation of the Kuiper mission. You'll work with passionate engineers to design and implement low-latency, highly-scalable architectures that ensure mission plans are achieved safely and effectively. The role involves developing cloud-native software systems using Java and Python, utilizing AWS technologies, and working closely with peer teams to fulfill mission needs. You'll be responsible for leading technical roadmap definition, mentoring team members, and ensuring the development of performant software systems that meet mission criteria. This position requires expertise in software development, system architecture, and team leadership, with the unique opportunity to contribute to a project that aims to bridge the global digital divide. Due to export control regulations, candidates must be U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or have legal refugee/asylee status. The role offers competitive compensation ranging from $151,300 to $261,500 based on location and experience, plus comprehensive benefits and potential equity compensation.
