Project Kuiper is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Project Kuiper will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.
As a Senior Software Development Engineer, you will design and develop foundational services that enable Project Kuiper to operate and manage the satellite constellation and ground stations. These critical services include Contact Orchestration, Commanding, File Transfer and Asteria (single source of truth for hardware and software versions for satellites). The systems built serve a fundamental role in the successful functioning of the satellite constellation and supporting teams, requiring mission-critical reliability, uptime, and performance.
The role offers an opportunity to work on cutting-edge space technology while building high-availability software services using AWS and other Amazon technologies. You'll collaborate with team members to strengthen the software organization within Project Kuiper and help onboard new team members.
The position offers competitive compensation ranging from $151,300 to $261,500 per year depending on location, plus equity and comprehensive benefits including medical, financial, and other benefits. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a project that aims to revolutionize global internet connectivity through space technology.
