Senior Software Development Engineer, Aurora PostgreSQL

Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL team is seeking experienced technical experts in relational databases and large-scale storage systems. As a Senior Software Development Engineer, you'll be part of AWS's fastest-growing database service, working on the PostgreSQL-compatible edition of Amazon Aurora. This role offers the opportunity to build hyper-scale database services in the cloud, working with one of the most senior teams in AWS.

You'll be responsible for designing and developing critical system software components that run across thousands of servers worldwide. The position involves building distributed database systems that provide exceptional availability, reliability, and performance guarantees. You'll work with cutting-edge technologies and solve complex problems in distributed systems, concurrency, database internals, caching, query optimization, and performance engineering.

The team operates across Seattle and Boston, offering a collaborative environment where senior engineers actively mentor and engage in brainstorming sessions. You'll contribute to innovative solutions, participate in patent development, and have opportunities to attend global conferences. The role combines hands-on development with technical leadership, requiring both strong software development skills and the ability to mentor other engineers.
