Description For Server Engineer | Data Center Operations, NRTE - DCO

AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS) owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. As a Server Engineer in the Data Center Operations team, you will be responsible for maintaining and supporting one of the world's largest computing infrastructures.

Your role involves hands-on management of hardware lifecycle in our IT infrastructure, including:

  • Daily operations of data center infrastructure equipment (racks, servers, networking devices, hardware components, cables)
  • Systematic problem resolution and routine maintenance activities
  • Installing and removing server racks and fixing server hardware
  • Participating in scheduled maintenance and change management activities
  • Monitoring data center infrastructure during maintenance windows
  • Performing on-call duties as part of the rotation

You'll work in a rotating shift schedule with 10-hour shifts (including 1-hour break), 4 days on/3 days off. Shift times vary between 8:00-18:00, 12:00-22:00, and 21:45-08:15.

The role requires strong troubleshooting abilities, attention to detail, and the capability to work independently while contributing to team goals. You'll collaborate with a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, maintaining the highest standards for safety and security while ensuring optimal performance of AWS data center operations.
