The Cloud Access Gateways (CAG) team at Amazon is seeking a Software Dev Engineer II to join their Traffic Engineering division. This role is part of a team that's revolutionizing how Amazon services connect with the cloud, building industry-leading solutions that simplify internet ingress, service connectivity, and cloud access experiences. The team's infrastructure processes tens of millions of requests per minute through three key pillars: OPF (Internet Ingress Gateway and reverse proxy), Cross-Region Access Gateways, and Cloud Access Builder Experience.

The position focuses on OPF, which manages the critical software layer handling all web traffic from the public Internet. You'll be responsible for building high-performance solutions that handle networking, data processing, and security at Amazon scale. The role requires expertise in system architecture, security implementation, and performance optimization.

As an SDE II, you'll work on modernizing Amazon's Internet ingress, DNS, URL, and Domain Redirects portfolio.   • 2+ years of experience in system architecture and design
  • Strong understanding of industry technology (analytics, monitoring, code deployment, system scalability, load balancers, web servers)
  • In-depth knowledge & experience of Linux and Apache
  • Understanding of TCP/IP networking and network architecture
  • Programming experience with modern languages like Java, C++, or C#
  • Experience in troubleshooting and operational support
