Amazon's Profit Intelligence team is seeking a Software Development Engineer to build large-scale data intelligence systems that measure and predict true profit/loss for each item shipped to Amazon customers. The role involves working with Applied Scientists, Big Data Engineers, and other SDEs to create systems that impact key pillars like Pricing, Promotions, Advertising, and Inventory management.
The team builds complex software solutions enabling large-scale stream processing, from simple allocations to complex ML Models. You'll work with AWS services including Redshift, S3, Step Functions, Glue, Spark, Flink, and Kinesis to process and analyze massive amounts of financial data.
This position offers an opportunity to shape the definition, vision, and development of critical financial intelligence systems from start to finish. The team operates with an agile mindset, pushing boundaries in cloud services, distributed systems, forecasting algorithms, and data mining.
Key responsibilities include building data infrastructure, scaling ingestion pipelines, developing self-service tools for unit economics analysis, and implementing end-to-end data governance. You'll be processing hundreds of terabytes of incoming data from various financial events across Amazon.
