Description For Software Development Engineer, Amazon Robotics

Amazon Robotics is seeking a talented Software Development Engineer to join their Movement Sciences & Schedule team, focusing on developing technologies that control and optimize robotic fulfillment for Amazon's operations. This role involves architecting and implementing systems that manage the movement of hundreds of thousands of robotic drives within Amazon's Robotics solution.

The position offers an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of robotics and distributed systems, developing cloud-based, high-performance solutions that orchestrate movement for a worldwide fleet of mobile robots. You'll be part of a collaborative team that builds critical infrastructure ensuring Amazon's retail customers receive their packages on time.

As a key member of the team, you'll work alongside firmware engineers, applied scientists, and data scientists to develop large-scale automation solutions. The role involves both theoretical work through simulation and practical implementation with live robotic equipment. You'll contribute to the team's long-term vision and roadmap while maintaining high engineering standards through code reviews and operational excellence.

The Movement Sciences & Scheduling (MOSS) team focuses on building cloud-based services that serve as a central hub for sequencing robotic movement activities. This system is crucial for planning and executing work that allows mobile robots to manage inventory storage and order fulfillment. Additionally, you'll work on real-time data processing systems that implement data science models for identifying and addressing performance issues on the warehouse floor.

This position offers comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage, parental leave options, PTO, and a 401(k) plan. It's an ideal opportunity for someone passionate about robotics, distributed systems, and building scalable solutions that directly impact millions of customers worldwide.
