Software Development Engineer, SIDR Overwatch

Amazon is seeking a Software Development Engineer for the AWS Networking organization to join a team focused on designing and developing software and services for configuring and automating operations of their global optical network.

The role is part of AWS Infrastructure Services, which owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. The team is responsible for keeping the cloud running, supporting all AWS data centers, servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment.

Key responsibilities include:

• Driving designs for components and services that deliver new features
• Preparing estimates for deliverables
• Documenting proposed solutions
• Code review and writing optimized code
• Root cause analysis on operational events
• Project updates to leadership
• On-call responsibilities (1 week every 4-5 weeks during working hours)
