Description For Software Development Engineer, Event Outfitters Engineering

Join AWS's Event Outfitters Engineering team to build and develop solutions for managing one of the largest fleets of AWS Accounts in existence. This role focuses on creating scalable and secure services for hands-on workshops, including Immersion Days and Game Days, supporting workshop delivery at private and public events globally. You'll work with distributed cloud-scale systems, developing end-to-end experiences using AWS services like Lambda, Step Functions, DynamoDB, API Gateway, and more.

The team is primarily based in Texas but has members across various locations. You'll be responsible for building tools and services that enable the AWS field to securely and efficiently deliver technical content and hands-on events to customers. The role involves collaboration with AWS Event Marketing to support major events like re, re, and Summits.

As a Software Development Engineer, you'll tackle challenges in back-end API development, security and identity, serverless distributed systems, NoSQL data storage, complex event orchestration, and infrastructure automation. The position requires strong problem-solving skills at scale and the ability to own critical services that other teams depend on.

Amazon Web Services offers a dynamic environment where innovation is constant. The role provides opportunities for mentorship, career growth, and participation in employee-led affinity groups that foster inclusion. AWS values work-life harmony and provides a flexible working culture that supports success both professionally and personally.

The ideal candidate should demonstrate customer obsession, have proven experience delivering large-scale projects on time, and work independently. You'll join a team that's passionate about improving and delivering exceptional experiences for both internal and external customers, contributing to AWS's mission as the world's most comprehensive cloud platform.
