Description For Software Development Engineer, FinTech

Amazon Finance Technology is seeking a talented software development engineer to work on STARK - Amazon's homegrown Treasury Real-Time Knowledge for Intelligent Cashflow Tracking system. This is an exciting opportunity to build a next-generation horizontally-scalable platform that will transact hundreds of billions of dollars each year as Amazon grows to a multi trillion-dollar company.

You will be working on banks and financial services platform that executes bank balances, cashflows and cash impacting transactions for financial movements across all Amazon businesses. The role involves building large-scale and complex big data applications, working with machine learning to identify anomalies and provide insights across billions of financial transactions.

This is a brand-new platform being built from scratch, currently in the architecture and high-level design phase. You'll be working with Amazon engineering and business teams globally to plan, design, and implement this new platform. Financial expertise is not required, but experience with highly abstracted, extensible systems in a multi-tenant microservice-oriented architecture is important.

As a Software Development Engineer, you will:

  • Drive implementation decisions and deliver functional components
  • Mentor junior engineers
  • Develop logical & maintainable software meeting high quality standards
  • Work on architecture and design of complex big data applications
  • Push design limits by inventing and simplifying complex problems
  • Collaborate with global teams on planning and implementation
