Description For Software Development Engineer, Perimeter Protection (Anti-DDoS), NFW

AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking a Software Development Engineer to join their Perimeter Protection team, focusing on Anti-DDoS solutions and Network Firewall development. This role is part of the team that owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure, essentially keeping the cloud running.

The position involves developing innovative services like AWS Shield, AWS WAF, AWS Firewall Manager, and Network Firewall to protect web applications against evolving threats and attacks. You'll work on everything from low-level packet inspection hardware/software to customer-facing AWS services and globally distributed systems for mitigating sophisticated attacks.

As part of AWS, you'll contribute to defending some of the Internet's largest businesses from malicious actors. The role requires strong technical skills in distributed systems design and deep packet analysis, combined with excellent analytical and communication abilities. You'll work in a fast-paced, start-up-like environment where code is shipped daily.

The position offers significant opportunity for growth and impact, allowing you to influence the direction of new service development. You'll interact directly with customers, handle the complete product lifecycle from requirements gathering to operational support, and work with highly technical software and networking development teams.

AWS values diverse experiences and maintains an inclusive culture supporting work-life harmony. The company offers comprehensive benefits, ongoing learning opportunities, and career advancement resources. You'll be part of employee-led affinity groups and have access to mentorship programs and knowledge-sharing platforms.

The role is ideal for someone passionate about security, innovation, and building high-quality software solutions. You'll be empowered to act on AWS's leadership principles and challenged to continuously raise the bar in protecting cloud infrastructure and services.
