Description For Software Development Engineer (Prime Video)

Prime Video Live Events team is seeking a Software Development Engineer to revolutionize how customers watch Live Sports and events. The role focuses on building innovative solutions for personalized live content discovery and streaming experiences.

You'll be working on building massively scalable systems that control the lifecycle of live events and help customers discover live or upcoming games across various devices including Alexa. The team leverages cutting-edge AWS technologies including EC2, S3, DynamoDB, Kinesis, and Cloudfront to handle billions of requests from millions of Prime Video users.

The position offers an opportunity to:

  • Build personalized discovery experiences for thousands of live streaming events worldwide using machine learning
  • Design and implement distributed systems handling large datasets
  • Work with a diverse team of engineers ranging from new graduates to seasoned architects
  • Be part of transforming the live streaming experience for customers globally
  • Develop low-latency, high-TPS services
  • Create engaging customer experiences both on Prime Video and through social media platforms

The team has already achieved significant milestones, including launching NFL's Thursday Night Football streaming and multi-game watching experience for English Premier League in the UK. This role offers the chance to shape the future of live event streaming while working with world-class engineers in an inclusive environment that encourages experimentation and learning.

The compensation package includes a base salary range of $129,300-$223,600 depending on location, plus equity, sign-on payments, and comprehensive benefits including medical, financial, and other benefits.
