Description For Software Development Engineer - Prime Video, Linear Personalization Experience Team (LPEX)

Prime Video is disrupting traditional media with an expanding selection of content including movies, TV shows, Emmy Award winning originals, and live events. The Linear Personalization Experience Team (LPEX) focuses on building next-generation AI-powered personalization and recommendation systems for Linear TV, one of Prime Video's fastest-growing segments.

As a Software Development Engineer, you'll be responsible for:

  • Designing and implementing high-performance personalization systems scaling to millions of users
  • Building sophisticated recommendation systems and real-time data processing pipelines
  • Collaborating with Applied Scientists to productionize ML models
  • Developing real-time serving infrastructure with strict latency requirements
  • Leading A/B testing frameworks implementation
  • Defining system architecture and best practices

The role combines software engineering excellence with machine learning applications, requiring expertise in Java/Python, ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch), SQL, and distributed systems. Experience with AWS services (DynamoDB, SQS, SageMaker, Lambda) is valuable.

You'll work in a fast-paced environment, solving complex personalization challenges while collaborating with Principal Engineers, Applied Scientists, and cross-functional teams. The position offers an opportunity to shape the future of digital video by creating personalized viewing experiences for millions of customers worldwide.

LPEX's mission is to anticipate and exceed viewers' expectations by curating relevant linear programming tailored to individual tastes, behaviors, and viewing habits. The team focuses on deepening customer engagement while expanding awareness of Prime Video's extensive live TV catalog.
