Description For Software Development Engineer, Project Kuiper

Project Kuiper is Amazon's ambitious initiative to revolutionize global connectivity through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). As a Software Development Engineer on this project, you'll be at the forefront of bringing fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities worldwide. The role involves developing critical e-Commerce software and services that will power Kuiper's customer-facing operations.

You'll be joining the Customer eCommerce Services team, which owns the complete customer lifecycle management for Kuiper's communications services. This includes building and maintaining systems for identity and account management, subscriber services, billing and payments, customer support tools, and analytics. The position offers a unique opportunity to work on large-scale infrastructure while making a meaningful impact on global internet accessibility.

The role requires strong software development skills and experience with AWS infrastructure. Responsibilities For Software Development Engineer, Project Kuiper

  • Collaborate with engineers to gather requirements, design, develop, deploy, and operate critical e-Commerce software
  • Work on initiatives building e-Commerce functions on AWS infrastructure
  • Develop code, build CI/CD pipelines, test automation, and monitoring dashboards

Requirements For Software Development Engineer, Project Kuiper

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, or lawfully admitted refugee/asylee due to export control laws
