Software Development Engineer, Route 53 Resolver

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to join the Route 53 team in either Seattle, WA or Herndon, VA. Route 53 is AWS's highly available and scalable Domain Name System (DNS) service, operating in over 50 locations worldwide. The service provides advanced functionality including Private DNS, DNS Firewall, DNS resolver, and integrations with various AWS services.

The role involves working on deep technical problems spanning databases, networking, distributed systems, numerical analysis, and security. The team is expanding in multiple directions, adding new features to DNS services, improving traffic management, creating new AWS integrations, enhancing health check capabilities, and developing new security services.

As a senior engineer, you'll be expected to lead the team and demonstrate strong capabilities in both building and operating software in production environments. The position offers a fast-paced, dynamic environment where engineers engage in various activities from prototyping new ideas to instrumenting code, talking with customers, implementing features, and proposing innovative solutions.

The compensation package is comprehensive, including a base salary range of $129,300 to $223,600 depending on location, plus equity, sign-on payments, and a full range of medical and financial benefits.
