Description For Software Development Engineer, Sort Tech

Transportation Sortation Systems at Amazon builds critical technologies that enable manual and automated sortation, containerization, loading, and unloading processes across Amazon's worldwide transportation network. This team is responsible for developing systems that process millions of packages daily across Fulfillment Centers, Inbound Receive Centers, Sort Centers, Amazon Air Gateways, and Delivery Stations. The role offers an opportunity to work on key initiatives supporting the rapid evolution and growth of Amazon's transportation network.

As a Software Development Engineer in the Sort Tech team, you'll be working on complex engineering challenges at Amazon scale. The position requires strong technical expertise in building distributed systems and microservices architecture. You'll be writing high-quality code in Java, designing highly available systems, and working with some of the best engineers in the industry.

The role combines hands-on development with technical leadership responsibilities, including driving best practices and mentoring other engineers.
