Description For Software Engineer, Project Kuiper - Field Service Management

Project Kuiper is Amazon's ambitious initiative to revolutionize global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). The mission is to bridge the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities worldwide.

As a Software Engineer in the Kuiper Field Services team, you'll be working on critical systems that enable customer antenna installations for Kuiper internet access. The Field Services Management (FSM) systems handle various crucial aspects including technician hiring, training and onboarding, territory management, scheduling and dispatch, workforce management, and integration with Kuiper's customer-facing applications.

The role is part of the Software and Networking organization, responsible for all software, services, and infrastructure needed to securely operate the Kuiper satellite constellation, manage ground infrastructure, and deliver highly available network services globally. The team values collaborative problem-solving, incremental delivery, and maintains a culture that is empathetic, inclusive, and diverse.

This position offers competitive compensation ranging from $129,300 to $223,600 based on geographic location, plus equity and comprehensive benefits. The role requires physical presence in Redmond, WA, and due to export control regulations, candidates must have appropriate U.S. person status.

You'll be working with a team that tackles complex technical challenges while maintaining high standards for code quality and system design. The role requires balancing pragmatic solutions with long-term maintainability, making appropriate architectural decisions, and ensuring efficient resource utilization across the system.

This is an excellent opportunity for a software engineer passionate about working on large-scale systems with real-world impact, combining technical expertise with the mission of expanding global internet access through cutting-edge satellite technology.
