Amazon Lab126, established in 2004 as an Amazon.com subsidiary, is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer for their Connectivity Software team. This role focuses on Zigbee/Thread technology across Amazon's device ecosystem, including Kindle, Fire TV, Echo, and IoT Smart Home solutions. The position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge consumer electronics, developing connectivity solutions that span from application level to low-level wireless controller algorithms.

The ideal candidate will join a team responsible for delivering feature-rich, high-performance, low-power connectivity platforms. You'll work across multiple disciplines, collaborating with product management, hardware, operations, and quality assurance teams. Responsibilities For Sr Embedded Software Engineer, Amazon Devices - Connectivity SW

  • Work with product management and cross functional teams to provide technical solutions
  • Implement new features for OpenThread Stack
  • Implement high-quality Zigbee stack, framework and application features
  • Implement metrics, debug tools and integrate with backend solutions
  • Contribute to specification Thread and CSA changes
  • Design and Implement power management features
  • Implement testing facilities and tools
  • Implement application on mobile devices to communicate with Amazon devices
  • Improve memory footprint, optimize drive, stack and application code
  • Work with hardware team to ensure correct exercising of hardware and RF architecture
  • Support compliance and certification activities

Requirements For Sr Embedded Software Engineer, Amazon Devices - Connectivity SW

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
  • 5+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems experience
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
  • Experience in embedded development in C/C++
  • Experience with general troubleshooting/debugging of hardware
