Project Kuiper is Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite broadband network aimed at delivering fast, reliable internet to customers worldwide. As a Network Development Engineer, you'll work on:
- Collaborating with Systems Development Engineers to design and build innovative tools
- Defining processes for monitoring, operating, and scaling ground network infrastructure
- Supporting millions of users worldwide through network operations
- Driving root cause resolution of network events
- Automating manual processes for operational excellence
- Working with network, systems & software teams for smooth roll-out of new designs
- Developing tools to measure and improve Kuiper Ground Infrastructure performance
- Providing critical operations support and incident response
- Serving as Network SME for ground gateway operations
The role involves mentoring, design work, operational excellence initiatives, automation, scripting, coordination with engineering teams, and participating in an on-call rotation. The team spans North America, Europe, and Australia.
Key Requirements:
- 5+ years of major internet routing protocols experience
- 3+ years of Linux/Unix environment experience
- 3+ years of automation scripting using Python, Bash, Shell and/or Perl
The position offers competitive compensation ranging from $143,200 to $247,600 per year based on location, plus benefits and equity. Due to export control laws, candidates must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, or have refugee/asylum status.
