Sr. Security Engineer, AWS Security Cloud Response

The AWS Cloud Security Response team is at the forefront of protecting AWS Cloud services and ensuring the security of millions of customers worldwide. As a Sr. Security Engineer, you'll be part of a critical team operating on the 'AWS' side of the Shared Responsibility Model to ensure "Security of the Cloud" and protect customers.

This role combines tactical security operations with strategic thinking, requiring you to work with both internal and external stakeholders to solve security challenges at massive scale. You'll be responsible for assessing and triaging security issues, engaging with service teams for remediation, and communicating with various levels of leadership including the AWS CISO.

Working in a "follow-the-sun" rotation model, you'll handle security incidents across AWS's 200+ products, requiring quick learning and adaptation. You'll need to balance multiple priorities, from immediate incident response to long-term security improvements, while maintaining strong communication with stakeholders at all levels.

The ideal candidate will bring a mix of technical expertise in security domains (network, OS, cryptography, incident response) and strong soft skills. You'll need to be comfortable making risk-based decisions, challenging status quo when needed, and driving security improvements across the organization.
