Sr. Simulation Engineer- Material Flow Design, Innovation, Engineering & Sustainability

Amazon's Innovation & Engineering team is seeking a Senior Simulation Engineer to join their Material Flow Design division. This role focuses on developing novel end-to-end process-centric and sustainable infrastructure concepts for Amazon's logistics network. The position offers a unique opportunity to work on complex simulation projects that directly impact Amazon's operational efficiency and sustainability goals.

As a Simulation Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing and implementing simulation solutions for material handling challenges across Amazon's Middle Mile network. You'll work with cutting-edge technologies and large-scale data sets to optimize processes and develop innovative solutions. The role requires expertise in simulation tools, programming languages, and the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders including scientists, engineers, and business teams.

The position is based in Germany with opportunities across multiple locations including Berlin, Munich, Hamburg, Leipzig, and Dusseldorf. You'll be part of Amazon Transportation Services (ATS), a crucial team that ensures Amazon's transport network runs at maximum efficiency. The role involves approximately 10% travel across European Middle Mile Nodes and corporate offices.

Key aspects of the role include developing material flow concepts, evaluating them against True North processes, and using simulation to validate and optimize solutions. You'll work with both internal and external subject matter experts to assess specific business cases and provide clear recommendations for improvement.
