Description For Sr. System Development Engineer, Bus S&Flight Operations, Kuiper

Project Kuiper is an ambitious initiative by Amazon to revolutionize global broadband access through a constellation of 3,000+ satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). The mission is to bridge the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities worldwide.

As a System Development Engineer in the Bus S&Flight Operations team, you'll be at the forefront of designing and implementing software systems for satellite provisioning and system integration. Your role involves developing tools for vehicle validation and testing, supporting software bring-up, and debugging new hardware while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

The position is part of a team responsible for developing the architecture, solutions, and roadmap for managing the customer lifecycle for communications services. This includes identity and account management, subscriber management services, user provisioning, billing and payments, customer support tools, and analytics.

This is a unique opportunity to work on advanced global communications services, combining software development with hardware integration. The role requires strong technical skills in both software development and hardware understanding, making it perfect for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of software and hardware systems.

Due to export control laws, candidates must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or legally admitted refugee/asylee. The position offers competitive compensation ranging from $136,100 to $235,200 per year based on geographic location, plus additional benefits including equity, sign-on payments, and comprehensive medical and financial benefits.
