Sr. Systems Development Engineer, Managed Operations

AWS Managed Operations (MO) is seeking a Senior Systems Development Engineer to join their team focused on reducing operational load and toil through long-term engineering projects. This role combines hands-on system operations with strategic engineering improvements, offering a unique opportunity to work on some of the largest software systems ever built.

The position involves a 50/50 split between operating production systems and implementing long-term improvements to enhance reliability, availability, and performance. You'll be part of a best-in-class engineering team responsible for AWS Regions' day-to-day operations, working to optimize availability, reliability, latency, performance, and efficiency.

As part of AWS's Utility Computing organization, you'll contribute to foundational services like S3 and EC2, while supporting new product innovations. The role requires deep technical expertise in troubleshooting across network, operating systems, and applications, along with proficiency in modern programming languages and infrastructure as code.
