Description For Support Engineer, Amazon

Amazon Payments is a critical infrastructure team that handles millions of transactions daily across multiple countries and payment methods. The team processes tens of billions of dollars annually for over 100 million customers and merchants, building systems that provide various payment features with unprecedented scale, accuracy, and mission-critical availability.

As a Support Engineer at Amazon's Bangalore center, you'll be part of a team that maintains and improves these crucial payment systems. You'll work on large-scale distributed systems, troubleshoot complex problems, and develop tools and automation solutions to enhance operational excellence.

The role combines technical support with development work, requiring both strong debugging skills and coding abilities in languages like Java and Python. You'll be responsible for maintaining service level agreements, coordinating with support teams, and building a knowledge base while working on various payment products and features including currency choice, installments, reward points, in-store payments, and seller disbursements.

This position offers an excellent opportunity to learn about large-scale distributed systems while working with one of the fastest-growing areas of Amazon's e-commerce platform.
