Description For Support Engineer, Audible

At Audible, a subsidiary of Amazon and the leading producer of audio storytelling, we're seeking a Support Engineer to join our growing team. This role combines technical expertise with customer focus, requiring 2+ years of industry experience in programming or technical support.

The position involves becoming a subject matter expert for various services, where you'll work closely with development teams to provide critical support and improve service delivery. You'll be responsible for understanding complex application code, making approved fixes, and driving issues to resolution. The role requires strong debugging skills and familiarity with Java programming and Linux operating systems.

As a Support Engineer, you'll contribute to creating and improving support documentation, mentor other team members, and develop tools to enhance operational efficiency. You'll also be involved in code deployments and creating metrics to measure support success.

Responsibilities For Support Engineer, Audible

  • Become a subject matter expert on one or more services
  • Provide support activities for services and work with development teams
  • Read and understand complex application code and make approved code fixes
  • Provide mentoring, training, documentation, and tools to other Support Engineers
  • Perform code builds and deployments
  • Create and interpret metrics for support success and service performance
  • Develop and refine operational policies and procedures
  • Write tools to improve operational efficiency
