System Development Engineer, Fulfillment Optimization DevOps

Amazon.com is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join their Fulfillment Optimization teams, focusing on systems that handle millions of requests per second and impact billions of dollars in business decisions. The role is part of the Fulfillment Optimization (FO) Support team, which plays a vital role in Amazon's supply chain operations. The team invents and delivers software and data science solutions that facilitate Customer Promise Speed, Order Planning, and Fulfillment. The FO DevOps team leverages data, process improvement, and innovative technologies to provide comprehensive engineering excellence services across FO's product portfolios.

As a System Development Engineer, you'll be responsible for supporting mission-critical, high-volume applications, requiring quick learning and the ability to work on multiple overlapping tasks. The position demands strong attention to detail, superior communication skills, and the ability to work independently under pressure. You'll need to proactively identify potential problems and implement solutions that detect and prevent outages.

The role includes participation in a 12x7 oncall support rotation, working with AWS services, and utilizing various programming languages including Python, Java, and TypeScript.
