Do you want to build the backbone of Generative AI cloud at AWS? The AWS Hardware Engineering team creates server designs for Amazon's innovative web services. As a Systems Development Engineer, you'll work on next-generation AWS platforms focused on AI/ML and HPC workloads.

You'll be part of the Hardware Engineering AI/ML development team, directly responsible for launching hardware in the fleet. Located in Seattle and Cupertino, you'll work with global development teams on programs that impact AWS's worldwide infrastructure. The role combines hardware engineering, software development, and systems architecture to deliver high-performance computing solutions for AI training and inference.

The ideal candidate is an innovative self-starter with deep technical knowledge across the full stack - from bare metal server hardware to userland software. You'll need strong debugging skills, system design expertise, and the ability to lead complex technical initiatives. Your work will directly impact AWS's ability to deliver continuous price-performance improvements for AI model training, including multi-billion variable LLMs.

Key responsibilities include:

• Designing and implementing next-generation AWS platforms for AI/ML workloads

Required qualifications include 4+ years of professional software development experience, strong systems development background, and expertise in Linux/Unix environments. You should have experience leading the design and deployment of complex software solutions and be comfortable working with modern programming languages like Python, Java, or Go.
