Description For Systems Development Engineer, ESC Managed Operations

AWS is launching its first European Sovereign Cloud (ESC), a major advancement in utility computing. This role within the AWS Managed Operations team is crucial for building and leading operations and development teams focused on high-availability AWS services. The position involves working with core AWS services like EC2, S3, Dynamo, Lambda, and Bedrock, specifically for EU customers.

As a Systems Development Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of transforming AWS's global infrastructure operations. Your role will focus on creating and implementing systemic solutions that significantly reduce operational complexity and cost across AWS regions. You'll develop scalable automation systems to eliminate operational inefficiencies and standardize workflows.

The position requires strong collaboration with service teams, operational staff, and leadership to identify operational challenges and architect lasting solutions. You'll contribute to shaping the future of AWS operations through next-generation cloud infrastructure management implementations.

Key responsibilities include supporting various AWS services across Compute, Database, Storage, IoT, Platform, and Productivity Apps, with particular attention to customers requiring specialized security solutions. The role includes occasional on-call rotations for incident resolution.
