Systems Development Engineer, Managed Operations

AWS is launching its first European Sovereign Cloud (ESC), a groundbreaking development in utility computing. This role within the AWS Managed Operations team is crucial for building and leading operations and development teams focused on high-availability AWS services like EC2, S3, Dynamo, Lambda, and Bedrock, specifically for EU customers.

The position combines hands-on technical leadership with strategic service development. You'll be at the forefront of launching the ESC in 2025, collaborating with global AWS teams to shape the future of AWS services. Daily responsibilities include working with technology leaders, enhancing operations, and ensuring optimal service performance across availability, reliability, latency, and efficiency metrics.

As part of AWS Utility Computing (UC), you'll support core services that define AWS's industry leadership. The role requires participation in on-call rotations and demands a balance between operational excellence and long-term engineering improvements.
