Systems Development Engineer – SRE, Kuiper

Project Kuiper is an ambitious initiative by Amazon to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). The mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities worldwide.

As a Systems Development Engineer – SRE for Kuiper, you'll be part of the team responsible for defining and implementing digital chip SOCs for communications via Low Earth Orbit satellites and Amazon gateways. This role presents a unique opportunity to define groundbreaking wireless solutions without legacy constraints.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deploy and optimize AWS services-based ASIC EDA environments for 300 engineers
• Design and maintain test fixtures for hardware verification
• Develop operational software and scripts for high availability
• Troubleshoot pre-production equipment issues
• Drive engineering productivity through automated build, test, and release infrastructure
• Implement best practices in code health and maintainability

The role requires expertise in maintaining technical infrastructure, handling ambiguous challenges like setting up new pre-production hardware, and creating robust verification frameworks. You'll be crucial in enabling the team to move quickly and confidently while maintaining system reliability.
