Description For Systems Engineer, ESC Managed Operations

AWS is launching its first European Sovereign Cloud (ESC), a groundbreaking development in utility computing. This role within the AWS Managed Operations team is crucial for building and leading operations and development teams focused on high-availability AWS services like EC2, S3, Dynamo, Lambda, and Bedrock, specifically for EU customers.

The position involves working with AWS's Utility Computing (UC) division, which is responsible for foundational services and continuous product innovations. As a Systems Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of launching the ESC in 2025, collaborating with global teams, and shaping the future of AWS services. Your daily responsibilities will include working with technology leaders, improving operations, and ensuring optimal service performance metrics.

The role requires participation in on-call rotations and demands a strong background in systems engineering, with expertise in hardware, software, networking, and operating systems. You'll need proficiency in scripting languages and operational best practices, along with excellent troubleshooting abilities.
