Description For Systems Engineer, ESC Managed Operations

AWS is launching its first European Sovereign Cloud (ESC), a groundbreaking initiative in utility computing. This role within the AWS Managed Operations team is crucial for building and leading operations teams that will deliver high-availability AWS services specifically for EU customers. The position involves working with core AWS services like EC2, S3, Dynamo, Lambda, and Bedrock.

The role combines systems engineering with cloud operations, requiring expertise in automation and operational excellence. You'll be at the forefront of launching the ESC in 2025, collaborating with global AWS teams to shape the future of AWS services. Daily responsibilities include working with technology leaders, improving operations, and ensuring optimal service performance metrics.

As part of AWS Utility Computing (UC), you'll contribute to foundational services and new product innovations that differentiate AWS in the industry. The position requires participation in on-call rotations and focuses on delivering scalable, highly available services for EU customers.
