Amazon's OpsTech Networks-Wireless Architecture team is seeking a Wireless Network Development Engineer to join their Nashville-based team. This role is crucial in defining and delivering next-generation wireless solutions for Amazon's global fulfillment centers and transportation sites. The position combines deep technical expertise in wireless networking with strategic thinking to improve one of the world's largest wireless networks.

The role offers a unique opportunity to impact Amazon's fulfillment networks globally, from small delivery stations to advanced automated fulfillment centers across North America, Japan, and Europe. You'll work with cutting-edge wireless technologies, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive automation initiatives to enhance network reliability and performance.

As a Wireless Network Development Engineer, you'll be responsible for identifying and implementing technical solutions that improve network availability, partnering with peer teams to solve complex customer problems, and developing automation to resolve wireless network failures. The position requires both tactical and strategic thinking, as you'll be involved in everything from day-to-day operations to long-term architectural decisions.

  • Identify and deliver technical solutions to improve wireless network availability
  • Partner with peer teams to understand customer problems and find technological solutions
  • Define and meter network solution availability
  • Develop automation to resolve wireless network failures
  • Create and update wireless network design to improve reliability
  • Participate in on-call rotation
  • Implement metrics to measure wireless availability
  • Partner with peer networking teams on overall network design

Requirements For Wireless Network Development Engineer (RF), OTIE Wireless Engineering

  • 1+ years of automation scripting using Python, Bash, Shell and/or Perl experience
  • 5+ years practical relevant experience in Wifi or other managed RF networks operations and engineering
  • Deep understanding of IP network fundamentals and packet capture analysis
