As a Machine Learning Engineer, you'll be responsible for conducting cutting-edge research in deep learning and developing advanced natural language and conversation understanding systems. The position requires collaboration with software and platform engineers to implement models on-device and enhance Siri's natural language understanding capabilities.
The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in machine learning, particularly in areas like LLMs and natural language processing, combined with excellent programming skills in tools like Python, PyTorch, and TensorFlow. You'll be working on optimizing model performance, conducting accuracy improvements, and ensuring the successful deployment of state-of-the-art technology to production.

Responsibilities For AIML - Machine Learning Engineer, Siri Conversation Intelligence
- Develop novel ML/DL models including LLMs for natural language and conversational understanding
- Work with software and platform engineers to convert and compile the models to run on device
- Optimize latency and performance of the models
- Diagnose model errors and perform accuracy hill climbing for shipped products
Requirements For AIML - Machine Learning Engineer, Siri Conversation Intelligence
- Solid understanding of state-of-the-art technology in machine learning, deep learning (including LLMs) and natural language understanding
- Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, strong communication, and collaboration skills
- 3-5+ years proven programming skills using standard ML tools such as C/C++, Python, PyTorch, Tensorflow, Hugging Face, etc.
- Hands-on experience working with large models (e.g. LLMs)
- Hands-on experience applying common machine learning optimization techniques
- Publication at top ML/DL/NLP conferences is a plus
